Agility

I am pleased to announce, my first Cardigan, and First Show Dog, Ch. McKay's We Hit the Jackpot NAJ HIC, lovingly known to me as "Jackson".

Ch. McKay's We Hit the Jackpot NA NAJ HIC +2/3 OAJ (Jackson) is my first show dog. He was born March 23, 2003. He by Icon's Tobias McKay out of Icon's Darby of Oakie Acres. He finished his championship on May 29th, 2004, just a few days after his 14 month birthday. He is now training in agility, and has his Novice titles. He will be trialed extensively in agility this summer, and maybe step into the Rally-O ring.

Update: Jackson was OFA'd a few days after his second birthday, and the results are in! **Jackson's hips are GOOD!** His elbows are normal, and he is PRA clear through lineage. He will be getting his eyes CERF'd soon.

Jackson is now standing to approved bitches. Please e-mail for information. We will provide health screening numbers and information as well as pictures and videos.

This was my pathetic attempt at stacking Jackson. I had never done it before. Also, he was about 10 weeks old at the time. Then we attended handling classes and now we work so well together!

Jackson is a wonderful dog. He is friendly, out-going, loves all people, and is just a pleasure to be around. We couldn't be any happier with him. He has a bit of an independent streak, but that doesn't stop him. We are looking forward to placing titles on the both ends of his name. My dream for him is to become a Therapy dog. We also hope to try herding and agility now that he is finished. He has already been instinct tested and we hope to start lessons in a few weeks. Check out our Herding Page. The HIC after his name shows that we was Herding Instinct Certified. Jackson has his NAJ (Novice Agility Jumpers with Weaves) title, which he got on 11/27/04. He has two legs of his NA title.

We have started Rally training, and Jackson has a nice solid "Front", and around to heel position.

November 23, 2003 San Joaquin Kennel Club--Under Dr. Arthur Sorkin, Jackson and I received two-points going Winners Dog!!

December 06, 2003 Los Encinitas Kennel Club--Under Mr. James Frederickson, Jackson and I received two-points going Winners Dog!

December 14, 2003 Burbank Kennel Club--Under Mrs. Christina Hubbell, Jackson went Best of Breed for one-point!

January 18th, 2004 Ventura County Dog Fanciers Association--Under Mr. David M. Powers, Jackson went Winners Dog for three-points! His first major!

February 21st, 2004 Silver Bay Kennel Club--Under Mrs. Sarah Futh, Jackson went Best of Winners for one more point! He also took Puppy Herding Group Second!! under Mrs. Marion McPherson. It was his last time in the Puppy Class.

March 20th, 2004 PW/CWCCSC--Under Ms. Tracy Irving, Jackson went Best of Breed. However, it was only a Match, and he received no points.

April 24th, 2004 Lake Matthews Kennel Club--Under Mrs. Helen Lee James, Jackson went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for one more point!

April 25th, 2004 Lake Matthews Kennel Club--Under Dr. Donald A. Gill, Jackson went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for one more point!

May 22nd, 2004 Pasadena Kennel Club--Under Col. Joe Purkhiser, Jackson went Winners Dog for one more point!

May 23rd, 2004 Pasadena Kennel Club--Under Ms. Patricia A. Ellis, Jackson went Winners Dog for one more point!

May 29th, 2004 San Fernando Kennel Club (Mission Circuit)--Under Dr. Robert J. Berndt, Jackson went Winners Dog and Best of Winners for a three-point major which finished his Championship!!
